There was a time when successful people seemed like beings from another planet—like aliens.
And now?
That perception hasn’t changed much. Successful people still seem distant, almost unreachable. This is why I, too, once chased after success.
“Aren’t you chasing it anymore?”
My answer is no.
“Are you claiming to be a successful person?”
My answer is no.
“Then don’t you want to be successful?”
Again, my answer is no.
“What do you mean? Then why are you working so hard?”
Before I answer that question, there are a few things I need to explain.
Let me keep it brief.
Do you know what success or being successful really means? How do you determine who is successful and who isn’t?
You need to understand this.
Take, for example, a three-year-old child crying for chocolate. To that child, success is getting the desired chocolate. Once they get it, they are happy and consider themselves successful.
What I’m trying to say is that success is a relative concept. Someone might be happy earning $100 a month from an affiliate niche site, while another person may not be satisfied even with $1,000.
Anyway, that’s a different matter.
Today, I want to talk about the “big fish” in the Amazon affiliate niche site world—those who earn thousands of dollars from a single site (some are around us, but I won’t mention names because jobs would be on the line). What are they like?
How do they earn thousands of dollars?
What’s their secret?
Let’s move on to the second part of this article.

Big Fish vs. You and Me
Those we perceive as successful in this sector have achieved financial stability by working here. Or, in other words, how do those who make thousands of dollars from each niche site do it?
You or I are those of us who are making small strides or maybe not achieving much. And those of us chasing after these so-called successful big fish, struggling in the vast ocean, why aren’t we able to succeed?
Have you ever thought about it?
I have.
But I didn’t just sit there thinking.
I found the reason.
Do you want to know?
I bet you do.
Isn’t that right?
Yes, that’s the difference between you, me, and those successful individuals. You and I want to know about successful people. But those who are truly successful don’t care about these things. They only focus on knowing themselves. They do whatever is necessary to enrich themselves and expand their knowledge base.
Why?
Because that’s how success is achieved.
When someone is not focused on others’ success but is busy working on their own success, that person is the one who truly becomes successful.
Does that make sense?
Notice I admitted earlier that I used to be obsessed with the success of others. I constantly wondered, “How are they so successful? How are they making thousands of dollars? How are they ranking niche site after niche site? What magic do they know?” I was only interested in learning about their mysterious world.
And then, at one point, I realized this was pointless. I understood that I needed to focus on myself. What do I actually want?
I realized that what I want is quite simple. Anyway, that’s a story for another day. Today, let’s talk about the success of successful people and the reasons behind our failures.
Is He Always Successful?
When I started researching the success of successful people, I realized that no one is successful in every aspect of life.
What!
Does that sound strange to you?
Dig deeper, brother. Keep looking.
If you’re more curious, continue your search.
You’ll find that every successful person has one or more stories of failure. These bitter experiences helped them move forward.
Look around. Investigate thoroughly. You’ll see that even the successful people you know constantly struggle. It’s not like they’ve reached a point where there’s no going back. No, the reality is far from that.
Everyone knows Spencer Haws. I even wrote a case study on his Niche Site, Project 4. Maybe you’ve read it. Those of us who work in Amazon affiliate niche sites are all somewhat familiar with him.
And you surely know about his failures too, right?
If not, you can easily find out. In his case study, he shared how he faced challenges and setbacks with his first niche site project. Just look into it, and you’ll learn.
We have so many brothers in our group!
Remember that just because someone is a successful niche site marketer doesn’t mean they are successful in every project. They struggle with every project, and not all of them succeed.
In other words, they aren’t always successful. Even a successful marketer has many failed projects. It’s not just at the beginning either; it’s not that they had many failures early on, but now everything is a success.
No, that’s not the case.
Even as they continue working, they face many bitter failures. And this process is ongoing. It will keep happening. So, when you blindly chase after a successful person, you should think about this. Just because they help you doesn’t mean you’ll automatically succeed. They too can make mistakes. And that’s normal. After all, they are human. Humans make mistakes; errors are a natural part of being human. The only one who doesn’t make mistakes is the devil, right?
What Are Successful People Like?
Successful people are just like you and me—ordinary humans.
So, does that mean there’s no difference between successful and unsuccessful people?
There is. As mentioned above, let me say it again in one line—successful people only follow themselves. But unsuccessful people chase after others like mad, constantly following different people with no clear goal.
Oh, wait! They do have one goal—watching successful people and lamenting over their success, following them around like lost souls.
Do you want to be unsuccessful? Then, let’s learn how to easily become unsuccessful.
Those who aim to be successful only trust themselves. They are their own mentor, their own boss.
As the timeless saying goes, “Know thyself.”
Now, is this question crossing your mind? Should I avoid approaching successful people?

Of course, you should approach them, brother. But not by losing yourself in the process.
And definitely not in a state of emptiness. First, make yourself as capable as possible. Why am I saying this? Let me share a funny story with you.
Learning, Earning, and Dedication: Which Comes First?
A couple of days ago, I created a poll in the Authority Aid group to gather public opinions. Nearly two hundred people, including several successful niche site marketers, participated and shared their thoughts.
Do you know what the interesting part is?
The screenshot below shows that 65% of the respondents believe that to succeed in affiliate marketing, the first step is education. Then comes the matter of investment. If these two are in order, there is nothing stopping you from getting started. In other words, you’re ready to step into the field with patience.
Isn’t that fascinating?

Well, if it doesn’t seem fascinating to you (which isn’t unusual), let me take a step back and ask you to reflect on different groups and your own behavior.
What does a new marketer do?
If you pay close attention, you’ll notice that they start asking many questions as soon as they join a group (I’m not saying asking questions is wrong or shouldn’t be done). There’s nothing wrong with asking questions. However, if the answer to your question can be found in two minutes through a group search or Google, is it necessary to keep bothering a successful marketer with that?
A marketer who doesn’t know whether they can rank a keyword or how many words an article should be to rank for that keyword—do they really need to worry about how much it costs to build a niche site?
Look, my words might be irritating you. But if you don’t want to understand or can’t understand these points, then you’ll spend your life running after people without achieving anything. Is that what you want?
I don’t think so. You know you have value. You know you have potential. You know that you can prove your worth if you put your mind to it.
So?
Why not start doing that?
I hope that from now on, you will.
Remember, first, you need to learn the basics. Once you have a clear understanding, then you can think about investing. After managing that, you can patiently dedicate yourself to the process.
So,
First comes education.
Then?
Then comes investment.
And after that, dedication.
Should We Avoid Going to Successful People?
Not at all.
You can’t avoid going to them.
But wait!
Going to them doesn’t guarantee anything, either.
Hey brother! Are you joking? Is this some kind of prank video?
No, brother.
So, why are you saying not to approach successful people and then saying we should? Why are you being two-faced?
I’m not being two-faced, brother.
I’m simply trying to help you understand that you must focus on yourself.
Why?
Because you are important. Yes, brother. That’s exactly what I’m trying to make you realize. From now on, focus on yourself; you’ll see that every scenario will automatically change.
Do I need to make it any simpler?
I don’t think so. I hope you’ve grasped my point. Don’t chase after success or successful people. Always look inward. Success will chase after you. This is likely the core message of the movie 3 Idiots.
“I Am Successful Video”
“Haha… how did I do, my friends?”
I’m sure you know who I’m talking about. Do you know how successful he is?
No matter how you or I see him, he is 100% successful. Have you noticed how confidently he speaks?
Success is a relative concept. Success isn’t everything; personal satisfaction is what matters. Can anything be greater than inner contentment? As Lalon puts it—”Peace is better than happiness.”
Final Thoughts
There is no such thing as a final thought.
Stay well, everyone.
Happy Affiliate Marketing!
Billal Bhai

The idea that genuine success is knowing oneself and learning continuously resonates deeply.
It’s a reminder for us to focus on personal growth and not just external achievements.
Thanks for this inspiring piece, Billal bhai.
Thank you so much brother for your valuable words. Much love.
